Mike Mankenberg Named SVL Director of Nursing


Sun City, Arizona – Tuesday, February 16, 2012 – Sun Valley Lodge has named Mike Mankenberg its Director of Nursing.  Mike is a registered nurse and will oversee the care of Sun Valley Lodge Health Care Center residents.


Mike is a Glendale resident and a graduate of the University of South Dakota.  He has worked at various long-term care facilities across the valley providing staff education and holding the assistant directors of nursing and directors of nursing positions.  He takes over for Bobbi Jackson who retired in January after serving the Lodge for 11 years.

Sun Valley Lodge Celebrates Arizona's Centennial


Discover Arizona Speakers Announced


Sun City, Arizona – Tuesday, February 14, 2012 – Sun Valley Lodge announced today that it will again host Discover Arizona.  The Discover Arizona series will kick off on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 AM with a program entitled “Along Old Route 66” presented by John Craft, a professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  The series is made possible through a grant from the Arizona Humanities Council.

Marketing Director Mike Kloberdanz said, “We are proud to be able to offer this kind of high quality programming to both our residents and the community, and to be part of Arizona’s centennial celebration.  Sun Valley Lodge is grateful to the Arizona Humanities Council for their help putting the series together.”

All programs on the following schedule begin at 10:00 AM:

· April 4th “Along Old Route 66”
· April 11th Desperado Trails: Outlaws on the Arizona Frontier
· April 18th Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' (and Stage Coaches and Boats, too): Women Travel in Arizona
